Born and raised in Montreal, Benjamin combines his knowledge of finance and business with practical experience in the restaurant industry and mushroom cultivation. His career in the restaurant industry taught him the value of quality ingredients and the importance of trusted partners. His experience in mushroom cultivation, combined with his interest in regenerative agriculture and health, now fuels his desire to support the holistic health of local communities.
In 2021, after watching the documentary Fantastic Fungi, Benjamin discovered the beauty and essential role of the fungal kingdom. He then purchased his first cultivation kit and fell in love with the process. This hobby quickly became a deep passion, driven by the potential applications and symbiotic nature of mushrooms. This led him to found Myceliana—a company dedicated to the local production of high-end mushrooms, cultivated with care and expertise. The adoption of vertical farming techniques within the Centrale Agricole urban agriculture cooperative in Montreal reflects Myceliana’s commitment to sustainable practices, circular economy, and local collaboration.
